The Organisation

ChildFund Australia works in partnership with children and their communities to create lasting and meaningful change by supporting long-term community development and promotes children’s rights. It implements programs in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste and Vietnam and works in partnership to deliver programs in countries throughout Asia, Africa and the Americas.

Programs are funded by sponsorship contributions, grants, donations and other revenue. Globally the ChildFund Alliance assists more than 13 million children and families in over 60 countries.

The role

Reporting to the Philanthropy and Corporate Parnterships Manager, this role is responsible for developing new relationships with corporates and growing corporate income. Specifically you will be responsible for:

• Qualifying, prospecting and building relationships with high value individuals, trusts and foundations, and corporates
• Review the existing prospect portfolio, and develop and implement strategies to increase current giving levels
• Research and write compelling proposals that align program-funding priorities with donor interests
• Develop and implement a corporate giving strategy which delivers new business to the organisation

Skills Required

You have had 1-2 years experience in a similar role or working in a Philanthropy team. You are able to demonstrate:

• A solid understanding of relationship, corporate and major donor fundraising
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
• Track record in writing compelling proposals and inspiring feedback reports as well as creating a persuasive case for support and ‘’make the ask’ in writing, in person or on the telephone;
• Not afraid to cold call and develop relationships from scratch
