Connect Health and Community provides a range of primary health, mental health, dental and community services to people of all ages within the community. We have a comprehensive infection control plan in place to ensure the safety of our staff and clients.

This role reports to the Program Manager Community Connections and will provide effective leadership and management of a dedicated team of professional staff across Health Promotion and Gambling Help Community Engagement areas. This leadership position has responsibility for the delivery of Health programs and population-based initiatives in line with the Prevention and Health Promotion Plans responding to community need. You will need to have the potential to solve community-based problems, be ready and willing to create positive changes in our community and to question and rethink concepts, assumptions and practices.

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders demonstrating your leadership, initiative, ability to problem solve and capacity to respond flexibly to unexpected demands.

We are looking for:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health Promotion, Health Marketing, Population Health, Public Health and/or previous skills in health promotion, community engagement and/or marketing for a socially conscious organisation
  • Minimum five years’ experience in a related field in a community setting
  • Experience in leading a team and providing day to day leadership to team members, volunteers and students
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of contemporary health promotion/health marketing theory and practice
  • Sound knowledge of the National, State and Local health policy context
  • Ability to create a Prevention and Health Promotion plan and deliver the outcomes through individual contribution and working with your team
  • Demonstrated experience of making a difference through the development of new services and programs
  • Confidence and the capability to work with internal and external stakeholders including local and state government, community based services, vulnerable groups and our community
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to build effective relationships with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to write grant and tender submissions for funding opportunities and funding body reporting.

The period of employment will begin as soon as you are available on a part time basis (30.4 hours per week) until 30/6/24.

Salary and conditions are as per Victoria Stand Alone Community Health Centre Social and Community Services Enterprise Agreement (SACS) and the pay rate will be subject to experience and qualifications.

A condition of employment is a current Working with Children’s Check and Police Check. If you do not already have these checks, you must be prepared to apply and fund them.
