The role

This important position supervises the provision of multiple services to people with a disability by helping them to achieve their individual goals and plans through the ongoing efforts of a highly performing team. The Supervisor, Day Programs Leads each team in an inclusive and positive manner to ensure all strategic business goals are achieved. This role is a temporary fixed term contract until November 2020.

The Supervisor, Day Programs focuses on creating and maintaining a highly performing team culture, is sensitive to, and promotes, cultural diversity and acceptance; and ensures the services adheres to the principles and objectives of the Disability Service Standards (DSS) another appropriate legislative requirements.

About you

  • Effectively leads and manages a team to achieve successful and desired outcomes.
  • Is passionate about supporting clients with disabilities and advancing and empowering the lives of others.
  • Is compassionate and demonstrates empathy.

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Certificate IV Disability Support, Mental Health or equivalent.
  • At least two (2) years demonstrated experience in disability or a related field.
  • Highly developed and effective communication, numerical and interpersonal skills with the capability to engage and develop strong relationships with clients, your team and others.
  • Ability to work individually and supervise a highly performing team with minimal supervision.
  • Has sound supervisory skills that supports their team to focus on person centred care in a demanding and challenging environment.

Desirable Criteria

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of disability legislation and standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in Community Services.

Job Benefits

  • Entry rate $29.98 per hour. Higher pay points may apply depending on qualifications and or experience + up to 15,900 tax free pay per fringe benefit year.
