The role

This role will facilitate safe and meaningful contacts for children and young people in Out of Home Care with their families and significant others. You will also utilise your skills and knowledge to provide cultural mentoring to the children and young people. You will be responsible for transporting children and young people under your supervision and ensuring that contact is accurately documented.

Essential Criteria

  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with others.
  • Written communication skills, including the ability to write reports and complete formal documentation in relevant software programs.
  • Individual and team work. Ability to think quick on your feet and make informed decisions in complex situations.
  • Be flexible and work non-standard hours at times when required.
  • A current NSW Working with Children's check (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
  • Unencumbered Australian or NSW driver's license.

Desirable Criteria

  • A qualification in Human Services, Certificate IV or Diploma in Community Services is highly desirable for this position, although not essential.
