About the Job

The Health Team is committed to creating and delivering responses to population health needs with the local community. With a focus on maternal and child health, the Health Promotion Specialist will be responsible for supporting young mothers through pregnancy and building knowledge and confidence in parenting; assisting with referrals and support to access existing clinical and support services; delivering and supporting sexual health education and pre-pregnancy knowledge, particularly with young people; and providing targeted childhood health promotion alongside the broader Children's Ground team.

About You

We are seeking an innovative, suitably qualified and experienced Health Promotion Specialist with a specific focus on child and maternal health. You will have experience working with First Nations communities and an understanding of the effects of colonisation, disempowerment and intergenerational trauma and a demonstrated commitment to social justice.

To be successful in this position, you will have strong relationship, networking and communication skills - both verbal and written, have a collaborative approach to work and be a self-starter who thrives in an environment that is ambiguous and complex and be a systemic thinker.

Ideally, you will be a First Nations person.
