People And Office Manager

The Centre for Volunteering

The Centre for Volunteering is the Volunteering peak body in NSW. We promote and support volunteering and community participation through leadership; delivering and connecting people and organisations in order to enrich the community.

We are a committed and close-knit team of staff and volunteers with a passion for what we do. We are looking for a practical, energetic and community minded People and Office Manager to help us do what we do best.

This is a senior role which will require you to support our CEO to deliver best practice People and Operations Management with both confidence and empathy. This will include:

  • Recruitment, induction and performance and career management;
  • Policy development, training, implementation and ensuring compliance;
  • Advising in relation to all people related issues and managing these;
  • Managing WH&S and staff Wellbeing generally;
  • Managing and supervising all of the administrative activities that facilitate the smooth running of the office, including IT support;
  • Supervising allocated Volunteers;
  • Providing finance administration support to the CFO including invoicing and accounts receivable/payable
  • Reporting to funding bodies on compliance and performance, including funding related matters;
  • Acting as Executive Assistant to the CEO and supporting Board administration.

To meet the demands of this varied role you will need relevant tertiary qualifications together with at least 5 years’ experience in similar roles. You will be down-to-earth, flexible and values driven and will be an outstanding communicator and team builder. Experience in the not-for-profit sector would be an advantage but is not essential. A strong commitment to diversity and inclusion and the desire to apply your skills and personal qualities in an organisation supporting the community are most important to us.

This position is full time (possibly with some flexibility) and will offer you professional challenges working with great people. We have a lovely office in the Rocks but also offer work from home options. The higher tax-free income threshold for Not-for-Profit employees applies to our staff. The successful candidate will be required to comply with identity, Working with Children and police checks.

If the chance to work in the Not-for-Profit arena with committed people appeals to you we would love to hear from you.

Call Anna on 0419 280 121 for a confidential discussion.
