The Centre for Volunteering is the peak organisation for volunteering in NSW. With more than 40 years of effective operation we work with volunteers and our member organisations to support and promote volunteering in NSW. We provide volunteer matching services, training, research, advice and advocacy. We are located in an excellent CBD location (The Rocks) and our charity status affords generous tax concessions on salaries.

The focus of this position is to provide high-quality, engaging and relevant communication to members, stakeholders and the wider community, and ensure The Centre’s online and digital presence is continually improved and updated.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the strategic and operational development of The Centre for Volunteering’s website and social media
  • Updating and maintaining The Centre for Volunteering website, monitoring analytics and trends and reporting results to management
  • Enhancing and implementing regular member and stakeholder communications
  • Developing and fully implementing marketing campaigns targeting existing and prospective supporters
  • Increasing social media presence with engaging and timely content
  • Engaging stakeholders with The Centre for Volunteering mission to complement the work of the broader team
  • Reviewing branding and communication products and channels and implement changes to maximise impact and achieve brand consistency as needed

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience and capability in digital marketing and communications, including website administration
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and producing external publications including newsletters, eDMs and ad-hoc publications
  • Ability to develop relationships with community partners to find synergies to promote and enhance the services of The Centre for Volunteering.
  • Proven success in turning strategy into innovative digital content and delivering campaigns via direct mail, website and social media
  • Proven success using online media to engage audiences and build an organisation’s profile
  • High level proficiency in self-hosted Wordpress, including plug ins, Hootsuite, Eventbrite, Mailchimp and Formstack or similar
  • Results driven with experience monitoring website and social analytics and reporting results to management
  • Technical skills in design and layout (Adobe CS3) and, ideally, video editing skills
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and an ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • A self-starter who can work autonomously and be an effective and collaborative part of a small team

QUALIFICATIONS

Desirable: Qualifications in communications or business related discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
