CFMEU Construction & General Division
  • This is a contract position commencing February 2021.

ABOUT THE CFMEU EDUCATION AND TRAINING UNIT

The CFMEU Education and Training Unit was established by the Victorian branch of the construction division in 1993 as part of our commitment to improving health and safety on jobs and to offering our members the best opportunity possible to upgrade their skills and knowledge. The Unit has grown substantially since that time and currently offers a large range of industry specific vocational training in OHS, High Risk Work and trades. Our programs are organised and delivered by a skilled and dedicated staff of teachers, building workers and administrative officers who are particularly responsive to the varied work experience, education and language backgrounds of building and construction workers.

The Education and Training Unit offers OHS training including white card induction, WorkSafe approved HSR courses and WHS qualifications from Certificate III to Diploma of WHS. Our nationally recognised courses are written to national training package competency standards and are enhanced with building and construction industry applications developed from more than 28 years of research and experience of the industry.

We are looking for a teacher with a passion for OHS who can deliver a range of OHS courses to students with diverse learning needs and abilities. In addition to teaching, our OHS teachers are involved in writing curriculum, coordinating groups of learners and actively participating in work to ensure our RTO remains compliant with regulatory standards.

The position is based at our facilities in Port Melbourne. Some regional travel may be required. We are offering a full time contract commencing February 2021, however part time or casual applications will be considered.
