The Program

Centrecare co-founded the Valuing Children Initiative (VCI) in January 2016. The Valuing Children Initiative aims to inspire Australians to create a society that values all children; by supporting all children to maximise their potential; by placing children at the centre of our considerations.

As a social movement approach to improving attitudes towards children, the Valuing Children Initiative works with leaders to influence the priority given to the needs of children and future generations. Join us in making future generations proud.

The Role

The VCI is seeking a dynamic Development Executive to lead and oversee the implementation and secure the resources of the VCI's strategic priorities. These are:

  • Campaign to enhance awareness on the value of children.
  • Research into attitudes to children.
  • Public awareness, community engagement and promotion of the VCI.
  • Managing relationships and stakeholders to fund projects and sustain the initiative.

A Few Specifics

  • Coordinate and oversee the staffing and day to day operations of VCI.
  • Research, develop and implement a campaign plan for the widespread engagement and promotion of the VCI.
  • Identify and pursue funding sources and fundraising events to develop and sustain the initiative.
  • Monitor the expenditure of the VCI.
  • Successfully secure resources and develop partnerships to further the strategic priorities of the VCI.
  • Prepare and present material to relevant groups and conferences promoting the concepts and work of VCI.
  • Develop and implement actions in line with the agreed strategic plan.
  • Implement, monitor and review the existing project plan on research into attitudes to children.
  • Engage community groups, government, non-government, Churches and corporate agencies in developing and implementing sustainable initiatives.
  • Identify and pursue funding sources to develop and sustain the initiative.

You

  • Experience in project/campaign development.
  • Capacity for autonomy, resourcefulness and creativity.
  • High level strategic skills.
  • Tertiary qualification in PR/Media/Social Sciences or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships in the non-government, government and corporate sectors.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • National Police Certificate.
