The Central Land Council (CLC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976. The CLC represents traditional landowners, native title holders and other Aboriginal people across the southern half of the Northern Territory—an area of almost 780,000 square kilometres.

The CLC provides its constituents with advice, advocacy and practical assistance to support their aspirations, manage their land and realise and protect their rights.

We are currently seeking a suitable qualified candidate for the following position:

  • Social Performance Coordinator: Minerals and Energy Developments - MI013
  • Alice Springs
  • SO C (Commencing at $98,524 progressing to $106,389)

Based in Alice Springs, this is an exciting new role in an Indigenous controlled organisation with a 40 year history working for and protecting land rights in central Australia. Sitting in the Minerals and Energy section and working with Community Development, Policy and Governance and Land Management sections, this role will be responsible for pursuing the optimal social performance of minerals and energy companies under agreements with traditional owners. Working closely with the Tanami Desert Ten Year Plan (TYP) Steering Committee, you will perform the CLC secretariat support and project management, conduct effective consultation with traditional owners and nominated governance groups including Aboriginal community members, in relation to governance and resourced activities. The role will establish systems and processes to maintain an overview and analyse social performance, and coordinate independent evaluations. You will proactively engage with Newmont in relation to the TYP governance, implementation and reporting in coordination with the Manger Minerals and Energy. In return for your hard work and dedication, you'll be rewarded with an attractive base salary circa $98,524 - $106,389 plus 13% super. You will also have access to a range of additional benefits to greatly increase your overall package, including:

  • Ongoing District allowance circa $3,100 for an individual or $5,670 with dependents;
  • Yearly airfare allowance circa $1025;
