The Central Land Council (CLC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976. The CLC represents traditional landowners, native title holders and other Aboriginal people across the southern half of the Northern Territory—an area of almost 780,000 square kilometres. 

The CLC provides its constituents with advice, advocacy and practical assistance to support their aspirations, manage their land and realise and protect their rights.

We are currently seeking a suitable qualified candidate for the following position:

SENIOR MINERALS AND ENERGY OFFICER – MI002 – ALICE SPRINGS

SO C – SO B (Commencing at $98,524 progressing to $128,831) 3 year fixed term contract.

This position will supervise workflows of Minerals and Energy staff, implement and maintain internal systems and processes, liaise with traditional owners, companies and government and provide technical, strategic and policy advice to CLC staff on minerals, energy and infrastructure projects and submissions. You will leverage your experience in the mining, energy, infrastructure or environmental management sectors and cross-cultural communication skills to explain complex concepts in respect to exploration, mining, petroleum and major infrastructure activities within the CLC region and support traditional Aboriginal owners to make informed decisions. You will have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as engineering, environmental or social science, anthropology, law, geology, project management or a related discipline with proven professional competence in providing high level advice in a relevant field.

Total effective package includes: base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, relocation assistance, annual airfare allowance and salary packaging options. Annual progression within the salary scale is subject to satisfactory performance. Progression is in accordance with annual increments set out in an enterprise agreement.
