This position is responsible for implementing the development of new ranger teams in Kintore, Arlpara (Utopia) and Apatula (Finke). These teams will undertake activities such as return to country trips, fauna monitoring and other baseline survey, healthy country planning and general support to realise the traditional owner's aspirations to look after country.

This position will work with Indigenous rangers, traditional owners, CLC staff, the wider community, and other stakeholders in implementing a diverse program of on-ground natural and cultural resource management activities in these areas. In the first instance these will be short-term activities with the long term objective to secure ongoing funding for ranger teams in these communities.

The successful applicant will have relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated professional competence in, ecology, natural resource management or related fields. Demonstrated experience in the effective coordination and supervision of small teams would be valuable. Experience in community-based planning, strong cross-cultural awareness, good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal people is essential.

Total effective package includes: base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, relocation assistance, annual airfare allowance and PBI salary packaging options. Annual progression within the salary scale is subject to satisfactory performance. Progression is in accordance with annual increments set out in an enterprise agreement.
