The Central Land Council (CLC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976. The CLC represents traditional landowners, native title holders and other Aboriginal people across the southern half of the Northern Territory—an area of almost 780,000 square kilometres. 

The CLC provides its constituents with advice, advocacy and practical assistance to support their aspirations, manage their land and realise and protect their rights.

We are currently seeking a suitable qualified candidate for the following position:

PRESCRIBED BODIES CORPORATE (pbc) OFFICER – nt010 and nt006 – ALICE SPRINGS

CL 6 (Commencing at $76,854 progressing to $88,283) 3 year fixed term contract

These positions will primarily be responsible for supporting and building the capacity of Prescribed Bodies Corporates (PBCs) in their planning, governance compliance and project development within the CLC region. The candidate must have relevant qualifications and/or experience in community development, anthropology, educations, legal studies, public administration or related disciplines. You must also have a basic understanding of compliance requirements under the CATSI Act, the role of the Office of Registrar of Aboriginal Corporations (ORIC) and associated governance requirements for incorporated entities and a sound understanding of the Native Title Act 1993. Total effective package includes: base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, relocation assistance, annual airfare allowance and salary packaging options. Annual progression within the salary scale is subject to satisfactory performance. Progression is in accordance with annual increments set out in an enterprise agreement.
