The Central Land Council (CLC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976. The CLC represents traditional landowners, native title holders and other Aboriginal people across the southern half of the Northern Territory—an area of almost 780,000 square kilometres. 

The CLC provides its constituents with advice, advocacy and practical assistance to support their aspirations, manage their land and realise and protect their rights.

We are currently seeking a suitable qualified candidate for the following position:

LAND MANAGEMENT PASTORAL OFFICER – LM014 – ALICE SPRINGS

CL 5 – CL 6 (Commencing $71,156 progressing to $88,283)

Based in Alice Springs, this position will assist Aboriginal people to carry out sustainable pastoral activities on their land through the provision of planning, development and management support in designated CLC sub-regions. The successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications and/or competency certificates in rural science, rural business development or related disciplines, preferably with extensive practical experience in the pastoral industry. The candidate should have good interpersonal skills and an aptitude for active community engagement in a relevant context. Total effective package includes: base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, relocation assistance, annual airfare allowance and salary packaging options. Annual progression within the salary scale is subject to satisfactory performance. Progression is in accordance with annual increments set out in an enterprise agreement.
