The Central Land Council (CLC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976. The CLC represents traditional landowners, native title holders and other Aboriginal people across the southern half of the Northern Territory—an area of almost 780,000 square kilometres.

The CLC provides its constituents with advice, advocacy and practical assistance to support their aspirations, manage their land and realise and protect their rights.

about the role

We are currently seeking a suitable qualified candidate for the following position:

  • Economic Participation Unit Manager - EP001 - Alice Springs
  • Base salary SO B (Commencing at $113,631 progressing to $128,831) 3 year fixed term contract.

The EPU Manager will be responsible for leading the unit to support economic participation by Aboriginal peoples of the CLC region in an ALRA 'post determination' era.

The functions include understanding, advocating and sharing Aboriginal people's aspirations for economic participation, setting an agenda for sustainable development, identifying gaps in the types of economic participation support available in Central Australia and recommending/aligning existing support with constituents needs and aspirations while leading a team of specialists.

The successful candidate will have an appropriate tertiary qualification and/or demonstrated experience in economic development and participation or relevant disciplines.

An Ochre Card (working with vulnerable people check), National Police Clearance and a driver's licence are mandatory for this role.

Total effective package includes: base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, relocation assistance, annual airfare allowance and salary packaging options. Annual progression within the salary scale is subject to satisfactory performance. Progression is in accordance with annual increments set out in an enterprise agreement.
