The Central Land Council (CLC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976. The CLC represents traditional landowners, native title holders and other Aboriginal people across the southern half of the Northern Territory—an area of almost 780,000 square kilometres. 

The CLC provides its constituents with advice, advocacy and practical assistance to support their aspirations, manage their land and realise and protect their rights.

We are currently seeking a suitably qualified candidate for the following position: 

  • Coordinator, Employment and Training – LM007 – Alice Springs
  • Commencing at $98,524 progressing to $106,389
  • Fixed-term contract to January 2021

This position will be required to provide coordination and strategic direction to the activities of the CLC Employment and Training Unit in facilitating Aboriginal training and employment outcomes in mining, construction, pastoral, tourism, land management (CLC Ranger Program) and other industries within the CLC region. The preferred candidate will have relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Training or similar and/or extensive experience in achieving successful employment and training outcomes for Aboriginal people. You will have demonstrated negotiation, consultation and liaison skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively in preparing reports, budgets, submissions, and general correspondence. The candidate will also be required to supervise a small team in a work environment that encourages initiative and creates job satisfaction.

Total effective package includes: base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, relocation assistance, annual airfare allowance and salary packaging options. Annual progression within the salary scale is subject to satisfactory performance. Progression is in accordance with annual increments set out in an enterprise agreement.

An Ochre Card (working with vulnerable people check) and a driver’s licence are mandatory requirements for all employees employed at the Central Land Council.
