Aboriginals Benefit Account Application Project Officer - Identified Position - Alice Springs

Central Land Council
  • Base salary commencing at $71,451 progressing to $88,283
  • Aboriginal Identified Position

With funding arising from the NT Land Rights Act, the Aboriginals Benefit Account or ABA provides grants to and for the benefit of NT Aboriginal people and organisations.

As part of wider ABA reforms, application guidelines are being re-written to encourage more grant applications. And the Central Land Council (CLC) has been separately funded to run a three-year trial of support for ABA grant applicants, with a view to more successful applications resulting in more strong projects on the ground in Aboriginal communities.

The CLC wishes to fill the new position of Project Officer in this important work for up to three years.

This is an Aboriginal identified, mentored position, to bring strong knowledge of Aboriginal community needs and dynamics – and more – to this work.

On staff in a small team at CLC, the successful applicant will be part of a large and long-standing Aboriginal organisation at the cutting edge of land rights, development opportunities and advocacy for Australian Indigenous people.

An Ochre Card (working with vulnerable people check) and a driver’s licence are mandatory requirements for this position.
