About the Position

Centacare’s Individual Psychosocial Rehabilitation & Support Service (IPRSS) provides person-centred, psychosocial rehabilitation complex case management support, within a recovery framework, to people living with mental illness. Support Workers work with consumers, and families/carers where appropriate, undertaking joint service planning with Mental Health Services to provide strengths-based, goal focused and individually tailored services.

Support Workers identify consumer needs, aspirations and goals in key domains:

  • Supporting & promoting self-management, health and wellbeing,
  • Developing living skills & capacity for community living,
  • Community engagement,
  • Family and social relationships, and
  • Legal

About You

To be considered for this position you will need to meet the following criteria:

Essential Criteria:

  • Certificate IV in Mental Health (non-clinical) or equivalent
  • Experience working with people with complex needs and/or people living with a mental illness
  • Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (previously known as ‘Child-Related Employment Screening Clearance’)
  • Valid Australian Driver's Licence
  • Due to the nature of our services, Centacare is required to comply with COVID19 government directions. You will be required to provide Centacare with your COVID19 vaccination certificate.   • Willing and able to work outside of standard work hours at times if required

Desirable Criteria:

  • Degree in relevant Human Services discipline
  • Experience using Athena Penelope electronic client management system
