YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO IMPLEMENT CHANGE…

Reporting to the Manager, Tenancy and Co-op Services and working closely with the newly created Co-Co-op Finance Services Team Leader, you will provide vision and high-level team support in the day-to-day provision of customer focused and collaborative tenancy and arrears management services within a Community Housing Program and a Co-operative Housing Model.

On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:

  • Providing subject matter expertise and specialist knowledge to the team and the business across key legislation and relevant housing standards including the Residential Tenancies Act and the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) and representing the business at hearings as required.
  • Developing and implementing operational procedures and work practices within the team to maximise workflow and drive efficiencies and service delivery.
  • Establishing a seamless arrears management process through close collaboration with the Co-op Finance Services Team Leader .
  • Supporting the individual development of team members through capability building, regular work planning, supervision and feedback.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR…

  • Relevant degree and/or equivalent experience within a Community Services/Tenancy/ Social Housing environment.
  • Strong operational leadership skills and a proven ability to lead a team through change.
  • High level communication and negotiation skills and the ability to effectively influence and act with credibility.
  • Excellent understanding and working knowledge of the Victorian Residential Tenancies Act and processes required by the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT).
  • Strong knowledge of key features of the CERC/Community; Managed Co-operative Agreement, the Co-operatives Act, Information Privacy Act, Housing Act, and Performance Standards required of Registered Housing Associations.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW…

This role is a permanent, ongoing position operating in a full-time capacity and will be based in our Richmond Head Office. Due to the ongoing restrictions currently being experienced as a result of Covid-19 we are currently operating in a fully remote, home-based work environment until restrictions ease.
