Project Support Officer - Disability Assessment

The Centre for Disability Studies (CDS) has a rewarding opportunity for a part time Project Officer to provide administrative support and project coordination to the I-CAN assessment team.

The I-CAN is a support needs assessment tool designed to assess and guide support delivery for people with disability, including psychosocial disability (mental illness). Allied Health Professionals, Special Educators, Counsellors, Support Coordinators and other relevant professional are trained, certified, licensed and supported by CDS to use the assessment tool for people with disability. The predominant use of the tool is for NDIS participants undergoing plan reviews and appeals.

About the role 

The key activities of the position are to:

  • Co-ordinate the I-CAN annual training calendar with CDS I-CAN Team members.
  • Maintain register of training interest.
  • Set up new accounts for I-CAN users, including the provision of all relevant resources.
  • Maintain register of current I-CAN users, certification and license status.
  • Establish license agreements with new users.
  • Respond to public enquiries about the I-CAN assessment tool, in collaboration with the I-CAN Team.
  • Coordinate and respond to support requests for existing I-CAN users, in collaboration with the I-CAN Team.
  • Certify new users, including review of completed I-CAN assessments.
  • Assist I-CAN Team members in the facilitation of 1 day I-CAN assessor course.
  • Liaise with our Software Developer on further development of the tool; resolution of technical issues and testing of new features.

About you

The key qualifications, experience and attributes required to effectively operate in the role are:

  • Undergraduate degree in Allied Health, Social Work, Psychology, Education or similar.
  • Disability/aged sector experience or other relevant experience.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in project support and coordination.
  • Demonstrated administrative and advanced MS Office skills.
  • High level computer skills including database management.
  • Proven ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
