The Conservation Council of Western Australia (CCWA) is WA's leading not-for-profit environment group, with a history of running strategic, people-powered campaigns that win action on climate change and improved environmental protections.

The role

The Fundraising & Communications Manager leads our communications and fundraising team and is responsible for the planning, implementation and monitoring of our fundraising and communications activities.

This role works closely with our campaign teams to provide maximum impact. You will provide strategic oversight across our communications, advice for our campaigns, senior approval for external communications and publications and be a custodian of our messaging and brand. You will also contribute to the CCWA leadership team to deliver on our strategy, growth and effectiveness.

The role leads and implements strategy development or multi-channel direct marketing campaigns to acquire and retain donors, working across fundraising appeals, donor acquisition, and regular giving programs and also develops the standard operating procedures to systematise these.

KEY DETAILS

  • Hours: Full time including a requirement to work outside of normal work hours at times (part-time considered for the right candidate)
  • Salary guide: $85,000 – $90,000 p/a plus superannuation depending on skills and experience (SACS Level 6)
  • Location: The position is based in Perth, Western Australia. We offer flexible working from home options
  • Contract: Permanent

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Fundraising and Communications Manager will:

  • Lead the delivery of an integrated marketing and communications strategy covering key communication channels including newsletters, websites, social media, digital marketing, brochures, annual reports, and more.
  • Lead the delivery of a clear and compelling fundraising proposition that engages donors, supporters, corporates and members across innovative events, fundraising campaigns, partnerships and sponsorships at a local and national level.
  • Promote various fundraising opportunities including online donations, mail appeal campaigns, bequests and related programs across various multiple communication channels including, but not limited to social media, direct and e-communications, web marketing, media and mailouts.
  • Provide copywriting/editing support for critical external communications such as annual reports, major grants or fundraising proposals or key supporter communications.
  • Help produce content across various channels, marketing materials, and newsletters with the aim of growing our database and increasing revenue.
  • Oversee the management of the CCWA database and communication records.
  • Manage the CCWA website including content, digital strategy, analytics and administration.
  • Utilise analytical tools to measure, evaluate and report against goals and performance of activities including fundraising returns, digital marketing and advertising impacts.
  • Undertake other duties as required by the Executive Director

REPORTING

The position reports to the CCWA Executive Director and manages our communications team and works closely with our campaign managers. Positions that report to this role: Communications Officer, Events and Partnerships Officer.

Selection Criteria

  • At least three years demonstrated experience in managing, supervising and supporting communications staff in a similar role.
  • Excellent strategic communications skills with experience in developing and implementing communications and fundraising campaign strategies and messages for a range of audiences.
  • Experience in developing and implementing communications and fundraising plans and activities for community-based organisations, campaigning organisations or in the Not for Profit sector.
  • Well-developed writing and copy‐editing and graphic design skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed agreed goals and fundraising targets.
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal, time management and project management skills.
  • Significant experience and technical knowledge in managing websites and databases (ideally NationBuilder).
  • Commitment to achieving positive change for our climate and environment.
