Reducing the burden of cancer. Cancer Council Queensland raises funds that are dedicated to improving quality of life for people living with cancer, through research, patient care, prevention and early detection. A unique opportunity to provide evidence-based psychological interventions and contribute to programs which promote the psychological adjustment of people affected by cancer.
You will be a part of the CCQ’s Cancer Counselling Service delivering telehealth and face to face counselling interventions including but not limited to mindfulness and acceptance and commitment therapy to people affected by cancer and their families.
This role also contributes to the review of Cancer Council resources and the delivery of workshops and presentations on the psychosocial impact of cancer including stress and coping, adjustment, managing uncertainty and fear of cancer recurrence.
This role is Permanent Part-time 22.5 hours per week based in Cancer Council Queensland’s Cairns office.
We are looking for the successful candidate to commence this role in early January 2021
To be successful, you will be registered with AHPRA, and have a strong background in telehealth and face to face counselling. Experience in oncology and or grief and bereavement is highly desirable. You will be able to demonstrate strong case management skills and a commitment to evidence-based practice.
