Summarise the role!

Primarily based in our Woolloomooloo office, with a balanced approach to working from home, you will support key CCNSW community fundraising campaigns & events, within Metro Sydney region, such as:

  • Do It For Cancer (DIFC) = This is where people set up their own fundraising event (big or small) and with the support of this role, are assisted through fundraising strategy initiatives; marketing support; right through to moral support, to keep them engaged and motivated
  • Australia's Biggest Morning Tea (ABMT) = Using our nationally recognised fundraising event at a local level, individuals or teams, with the support of this role, are assisted through fundraising strategy initiatives; marketing support; and ensuring that moral is supported to keep them engaged and motivated
  • Balls 4 Balls = New fundraising initiative in infancy stage, where you will get the chance to support in driving its success

This is so much more than a fundraising role and will allow you the opportunity to work independently to meet targets and raise our brand profile, whilst working collaboratively with a wider team of leaders in the field who provide support an

Expectations are high, but the purpose of the role, and the knowledge of doing something with a purpose, will reward you every day.

You will:

  • Identify and realise opportunities, including through data analysis and insights, for the community to contribute to our organisation through local fundraising initiatives such as DIFC, ABMT and Balls 4 Balls
  • Raise the profile of CCNSW as the local cancer charity and maintain high levels of brand and service recognition
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with CCNSW staff; volunteers working within the regional and central offices; and local communities

What skills are we looking for?

This is a relationship/account mgmt role, with fundraising financial targets, that will allow the opportunity to use your analytical skills to drive direction of who to engage and connect with, for the right community fundraising campaigns/events.

This role involves a lot of phone calls to a number of our supporters, so you will need to enjoy building relationships through this means of communication. It will also draw on your:

  • Fundraising or stakeholder management skills/qualifications with a blend of marketing & data analysis.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills with the ability to build lasting connections.
  • Ability to pick up the phone and reach out to supporters as well as provide some technical support/understanding in this new era with online fundraising events
  • Project Management e,g Planning, development and coordination
  • Enjoyment and drive to achieve and exceed financial targets
  • Strategic approach and ability to think innovatively
  • Commercial awareness
  • Prior NFP experience with fundraising campaigns will be looked on favourably

This is not your average job, so it's not average hours! Because of the nature of working with the community, flexibility to work some evenings and some weekends will be required.
