Role

An internal secondment, backfilling a maternity leave, has created this 12mth opportunity.

You will be joining our highly regarded Marketing & Fundraising Division, a team of approximately 80, where you will be responsible for the acquisition of new donors and leads, and the development of existing donors, through direct marketing channels including face-to-face, telemarketing, online and other highly targeted channels.

We are always looking at ways to improve and do things better, smarter and more effectively – We are in year 2 of our 5 year Regular Giving growth strategy - This is a role that underpins that!

How?

Based in the Woolloomooloo office, with a balanced approach to working from home, this position will work closely with external fundraising suppliers and is a key contact in maintaining strong working relationships with agency partners (80% of the role is agency mgmt), as well as managing the overall performance of individual campaigns.

Reporting to the Acquisition Manager, this role will also liaise with multiple internal stakeholders (e.g., digital, brand, donor support and data teams) and is highly influential in communicating the needs, achievements, and positioning of Cancer Council to its many thousands of supporters and is a key part of the organisations Regular Giving program.

In this 12mth contract, your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Ensure all campaigns are effective, timely and meeting acquisition and retention KPIs.
  • Manage end to end acquisition campaigns, working across multi direct marketing channels including face-to-face, telemarketing, online and other highly targeted channels.
  • Budget, plan and implement acquisition strategies for the acquisition of new regular and one-off donors
  • Management of external agencies, campaign performance, adherence to agreements, compliance with standards, and SLAs
  • Designation of tests, identification and interpretation of test results.
  • Conduct regular analysis of results, trends, supplier performance, and attrition rates by campaign, outcomes of tests and projected profitability.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that accuracy of information, customer service, systems management and reporting meets the needs of the Acquisition portfolio
  • Implement and inform the Acquisition strategy in conjunction with the Acquisition Manager and wider Direct Marketing team.

What’s your background?

This is hands on role needing a natural networker with a confident approach. Your experience in acquisition and lead generation will be celebrated and you will also need:

  • Experience in the fundraising sector, specifically with Direct Marketing via Face to Face agency mgmt. is essential (maybe you are currently agency based!)
  • Proven track record of measurable success in fast-paced and target-driven role or environment
  • Excellent knowledge of telemarketing agency mgmt
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiations skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical capabilities
  • Proven project management skills and outstanding organisational abilities
  • Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate high degree of initiative
  • Experience of interpreting and acting upon complex data reports
  • High level of competence with MS Excel
  • Budgeting and forecasting experience will be looked on favourably
