Based in Frenchs Forest, CCNB is a trusted provider of information, advice and guidance delivered through a range of community programs and services. Respected as a leader in the delivery of suicide prevention, recovery and postvention services, the Sydney Northern Primary Health Network has commissioned CCNB to deliver the Way Back Support Service for the Northern Sydney Region. The Way Back Support Service is a model designed and supported by Beyond Blue.
As part of a national effort, delivering suicide prevention and recovery support to people, their families, and communities, we are looking for resilient and experienced people who can balance sometimes confronting and emotional situations with steadiness, compassion and professionalism.
Supported by an intensive training program from Beyond Blue, you will provide high quality, non-clinical care, and practical psychosocial support to individuals in the first three months following a suicide attempt or suicidal crisis.
You will work collaboratively with the client and their informal and formal support systems to aide their recovery following a suicide attempt or a suicide crisis.
Success will be measured by the client achieving positive progress through linkage to formal and informal supports, capacity building and mental wellbeing at milestone points in their support plan, and safe discharge of the client from the program.
It is challenging work, and it is rewarding. It is a new service, and you will join an established team of specialists.
A service delivery model for this program is attached.
