The Campaigns Manager will play a lead role in developing and overseeing the implementation of four Pacific Island campaigns that aim to upscale efforts to empower communities to sustainably manage their coastal resources. The Campaigns Manager will provide hands-on management of each campaign and each country coordinator, including ongoing mentoring, direct support for day-to-day implementation of campaign work plans, monitoring and evaluation and annual assessments.
Once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted and it is safe to travel, the position will require periodic country visits to meet with the country coordinators, partners, and support activities, workshops and campaign assessments. The target countries are Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. The campaigns, which will run through 2022, are in partnership with the Locally-Managed Marine Area Network and its objective of scaling-up community-based management efforts based on decades of learning.
In addition to providing high-level management of campaigns, the campaign manager position will support developing campaign activities, which rely heavily on media outreach with a focus on talk back radio. In addition, the Campaigns Manager must support story creation for news stories, long-form features and scripting for video content. In addition, the Campaigns Manager will support train the trainer workshops to empower grassroots leaders and networks to conduct effective outreach. Finally, the Campaign Manager must facilitate a multi-partner approach to periodically surveying coastal communities on perspectives, challenges, aspirations and priorities on coastal fisheries management.
Preferably, the Campaigns Manager will have a strong background in strategic communications, ideally with experience in media, marketing and/or behavioural change campaigns/research.
The Campaigns Manager must have strong writing skills, ideally with creative or journalism background. The position will need to support the in-house team to create campaign outreach materials, including prints materials such as brochures, reports, media briefs, press releases, newspaper features, as well as video products, including documentaries, vignettes, commercials and animations.
This position will be required to write project reports and engage key partners around our work.
cChange operates in ever-changing business and political environments and is steadily expanding. The position will also require constant flexibility, including taking on new tasks and projects on short notice. Experience working in multicultural setting and the developing world is ideal.
