Pathways Support Advisors x2 - ParentsNext - Shepparton

  • Based in Shepparton

Pathways Support Advisors assist their caseload of participants to develop Individual Participation Plans to work towards achieving educational and employment goals. The Pathways Support Advisor links participants with appropriate educational organisations for apprenticeships, traineeships and accredited courses, as well as with other organisations to help meet participants’ needs. Support for the participants can include a range of eligible activities and interventions.

Specifically, the position is responsible for:

  • Undertaking initial interviews, including risk assessment and screening, which will include prioritising of clients’ safety and wellbeing
  • Developing and implementing Individual Participation Plans in conjunction with participants, establishing their existing skills and aspirational goals and making appropriate connections to educational or other organisations as required.
  • Delivering high quality individual case management to assist participants to identify their goals and make progress towards them.
  • Providing outreach visits including visits with other services where appropriate

To be considered for this position, you will require:

  • Qualifications in Community Services, Youth Work, Counselling or relevant discipline.
  • Experience in supporting disadvantaged jobseekers into sustainable employment, training, work experience or volunteering.
  • Demonstrated knowledge about the causes and consequences of unemployment, and activities that are successful in helping people develop pathways to achieve an employment goal, including working with people’s strengths and capabilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting families, including: parenting, mental health, trauma, drug and alcohol abuse, family violence.
