CatholicCare Victoria Tasmania (CCVT) has entered into a contract with the Australian Government under the Family Support Program to facilitate, co-ordinate, manage and evaluate a range of services provided through the Greater Shepparton Family Mental Health Support Service (FMHSS).

The aim of FMHSS is to provide flexible, responsive options for families, carers, children and young people impacted by mental illness or are at risk of developing mental illness.

This program provides intervention and support to these people through strength–based and early intervention strategies that are holistic and family centred. CatholicCare Victoria as a service arm of CCVT will deliver the program.

Specifically, the position is responsible for:

• Undertaking intake and assessment and making appropriate referrals and crisis intervention as required.
• Co-facilitation of individual and group programs.
• Providing outreach including visits with other services where appropriate.
• Providing quality, culturally responsive, respectful and inclusive services to Indigenous young people, families and community members and young people, families and community members from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

To be successful you will require:

• Diploma qualifications or higher in Community Services, Youth Work, Counselling or relevant discipline.

• Demonstrated knowledge of mental health issues and social support service practice.
• Demonstrated experience in the co-facilitation of community based group work.
• Demonstrated understanding of evidence based practice development and continuous learning
