Are you ready to join a premiere integrity agency? The Corruption and Crime Commission is seeking your skills and experience to join our elite Investigations team as a Forensic Accountant, where you will be investigating unexplained wealth accumulated through unlawful means, and serious misconduct and corruption. 

THE WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The Corruption and Crime Commission (the Commission) is a leading anti-corruption agency whose primary purpose is to improve the integrity of and reduce the incidence of serious misconduct and corruption in the Western Australian Public Sector. 

The Operations Directorate manages the Commission's investigative activities. The two business units, Investigations and Operations Support, work together to proactively identify and investigate allegations of serious misconduct and unexplained wealth. The focus of the Commission's investigations is on systemic and complex matters, many of which require the use of specialist capabilities.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Financial Investigator (Forensic Accountant) is responsible for actively participating in the conduct of financial investigations into allegations of unexplained wealth, and serious and systemic misconduct within the Western Australia Public Sector, including the Western Australia Police, in accordance with the Corruption, Crime and Misconduct Act 2003 and the Criminal Property Confiscations Act 2000

The position is responsible for the analysis of financial evidence and the production of comprehensive financial reports, as well as tactical and operational financial research and analysis activities.

The Commission requires applicants to be Australian citizens or be immediately eligible for citizenship, and appointment is conditional on satisfactory completion of a rigorous security clearance process.

Applicants must also:

  • be available to work outside of normal business hours as required;
  • hold an unrestricted Driver’s Licence;
  • be able to successfully complete Use of Force training, requalification and associated medical and psychometric testing if required (to be determined on an individual basis);
  • possess relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting or a related discipline and membership/eligibility for membership of a professional accounting body in Australia.
