This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of a further contract and/or extension up to 5 years. Secondments will be considered. Suitable applicants may be considered for other similar vacancies within the next 12 months. This a full-time position.

Position Profile:

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior finance professional to work in an exceptionally interesting and diverse environment. The CFO leads the finance function and ensures the financial integrity of the Commission.  They provide support and strategic advice to the Commission’s Executive and contribute as a valued member of the Corporate Services leadership team.

The Corruption and Crime Commission (the Commission) is a leading anti-corruption agency whose primary purpose is to improve the integrity of and reduce the incidence of serious misconduct and corruption in the Western Australian Public Sector.

The Corporate Services Directorate ensures the delivery of high quality corporate support services to the Commission. THE OPPORTUNITY

The Assistant Director - Chief Finance Officer that includes the Chief Procurement Officer responsibilities plays a critical leadership role and ensures the Commission and its people meet their financial and procurement obligations. This position supports the needs of the Commission's business, through the delivery of day-to-day key financial support, coordination and consulting services concerning the Commission's resources. The position provides support and strategic advice to the Commission's Executive Committee and contributes as a member of the Corporate Services leadership team.

  • Assists the Commission to meet its business objectives and resource requirements through the delivery of budget, financial services and procurement activities.
  • Builds the financial capability within the Commission and provides high level, timely and professional advice to the Corporate Executive on the financial status and positioning of the Commission.
  • Accountable for ensuring the long term financial position of the Commission is secured through effective financial planning, decision making processes and systems, ensuring alignment with the broader financial imperatives of the Public Sector.
  • Leads the development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and review of relevant financial services strategies, policies, procedures, practices and systems to support and assist with the achievement of the Commission’s objectives.
  • Develops and manages the performance, motivation and potential of staff within the branch.

The Commission requires applicants to be Australian citizens or be immediately eligible for citizenship, and appointment is conditional on satisfactory completion of a rigorous security clearance process. To be appointed to the position of Assistant Director - Chief Finance Officer you are required to have membership of the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants, CPA Australia, or equivalent.
