About the role

We currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated person to join our Preston-based team as Professional Support Consultant. This is a 6 month position within the organisation with an opportunity to extend based on project outcomes. You will be responsible for providing information, resources and professional support (training and advice) to education and care services, specifically focusing on outside school hours care services. You will be mainly working with School Principals and Councils to establish school run OSHC services. You will work towards our vision where quality, not for profit community owned children’s education and care services thrive. Creating sustainable partnerships between services, community organisations and groups, as well as government agencies, is a key part of this diverse and interesting role.

Full time applications preferred, however part time will be considered (minimum 3 days per week part time).

About you

This position involves travel in Melbourne and some travel across regional and rural Victoria. To meet the requirements of the role, you will, at times, need to be available in the evenings, and some overnight stays may also be required, in addition to occasional weekend work, to attend events. The role will suit an experienced early/middle childhood professional or manager who is looking to broaden their career. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about community owned and not for profit OSHC and enjoys working within a dynamic and friendly team.

Key experience and skills:

  • Current knowledge and understanding of Children’s Services Regulations, Policies, Quality Frameworks, Assessment & Rating requirements
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience OSHC service management and leadership
  • Competent and experienced in designing and delivering professional support packages including mentoring, workshops, and advice.
  • Ability to keep up to date and analyse current developments in the education and care sector.
  • Experience in undertaking project work
  • Excellent time management

Key requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Education/Social Services and experience in OSHC settings. Applicants with 3 years + experience managing a service with a relevant diploma will be considered
  • A current drivers licence with daily access to a comprehensively insured motor vehicle
  • A current Working with Children Check or equivalent
