The Catering Trainer will plan and deliver training sessions to a small group of adults of culturally, religiously and linguistically diverse (CRALD) backgrounds with English as an Additional Language needs who are at the beginning of their pathways to becoming professional caterers.

The Trainer will primarily work independently with support from the Community Development Manager to develop and deliver training sessions that are tailored to the specific needs of the trainees. The Trainer will also provide trainees with hands-on support and supervision leading up to and at occasional catering jobs.

Carringbush Adult Education is a not-for-profit adult education provider that applies a holistic and strengths-based approach to supporting high-need CRALD adults in improving their skills and confidence to pursue their desired further education and employment opportunities. The Catering Trainer will work collaboratively with other staff and volunteers to support the trainees to achieve their individual goals.

The successful applicant will have experience working in commercial kitchens as a cook/chef, have training or management experience. You will have initiative, be able to work independently and have great interpersonal skills. It is desired but not essential that you have experience working with culturally, religiously and linguistically diverse adults.

The role requires flexibility in schedule, delivering one day of delivery per week for 3 consecutive weeks over 3 school term period in 2020.
