ROLE

Are you a passionate fundraising professional genuinely interested in Youth? Join this not-for-profit, and you will be helping to support the provision of a range of educational, employment and counselling services to young people in need.

As Philanthropy Manager, you will use your strategic fundraising/revenue generation experience to implement and drive support and engagement from high-value donors/audiences, focusing on major donors, bequestors, PAF's, Trusts and Foundations, Government Agencies and Corporates.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to step into a newly created Philanthropy Manager position at the Executive level to develop and drive the fundraising strategy, take ownership of the portfolio and make a real impact on the organisation.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will play a vital role in delivering the major gifts program. You'll exercise your finesse in building strong collaborative relationships with new and existing stakeholders and have the opportunity to be creative and launch innovative new campaigns.

The role is busy and varied and will suit someone looking to build on their excellent knowledge of relationship fundraising. You will be creative and strategic with the ability to meet targets and execute superior stakeholder and budget management skills.

YOUR SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Previous experience in fundraising will be highly regarded (major gift fundraising corporate partnerships preferred). Alternatively, an experienced and well-connected business development, sales and marketing professional looking to work within the NFP Sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve financial targets and a track record of securing major gifts/grants from high net-worth individuals and trusts/foundations.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ability to interpret, analyse and adapt highly complex information demonstrating how proposals meet funders' requirements.
  • Polished writing skills, with experience of adapting the style of writing to a range of different communications and audiences
  • Experience liaising with design agencies and printers to produce promotional collateral.
  • Practised in managing a prospect/sales pipeline using Dynamics or a similar database platform.
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills and the ability to 'close the deal'.
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • Awareness and understanding of best practice fundraising and recent trends and guidance in relation to major donor fundraising.
  • Competent in the use of desktop applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Positive can-do attitude with strong work ethic and ability to manage relationships.
