ROLE

Exciting opportunity for a consultative output focussed Manager, Data and Information Systems responsible for conducting needs analysis, scoping projects and presenting solutions to the organisation. As part of a small team, you will be taking a practical approach to a range of responsibilities from reviewing existing infrastructure and tools to budgets and data management; from software use through to reporting and analysis all whilst exercising strong stakeholder management skills. You will enjoy working with internal and external partnerships in a multifaceted environment and bring demonstrated experience with design, development and implementation of CRM systems.

The role is busy and varied and will suit a skilled Information Systems Manager, (ideally with not for profit experience) who enjoys operating at both a strategic and implementation level to drive outcomes and improve processes and efficiencies.

Reporting to the COO, the role will work closely with all members of staff, researchers and students at the institute, enabling this team to support the delivery of vital research needed to improve the respiratory and sleep health of Australians.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and manage strategy and operations plan for all data and information systems.
• Lead and manage information gathering processes to support organisational and research activity.
• Establish data quality evaluation mechanisms, ensuring the data meets end user's purpose in specified timeframe.
• Conduct ongoing development and maintenance of data and information systems.
• Reviewing existing and recommend new solutions/ technologies aligning organisational needs and research requirements.
• Develop policies and procedures for the department.
• Develop and maintain enterprise system architecture defining protocols and standards.
• Liaise with internal managers to ensure needs are being met, ensuring services are being delivered effectively.
• Manage Data and Information Systems team, building strong and trusted relationships internally
• Responsible for development and management of IT budget.

YOUR SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

• Significant experience in a similar role preferably in not for profit or medical research (however not essential).
• A strong understanding of all main modules (Responsive frontend development, Cloud server backend development, SQL language, Business Intelligence Solutions) is essential.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including ability to communicate and effectively influence at all levels.
• Experience in developing and managing collection mechanisms to meet requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to inspire and lead small teams highly desirable.
• Ability to plan, mobilise and execute multiple priorities and complex projects with agility.
• Change management champion with ability to transform organisations to do more with less.
• Strong collaboration skills with good standard of written and verbal communication.
• Flair for analysing and improving processes and procedures.
• Related qualifications in data information and systems or related discipline.
