ORGANISATION

ROLE

Exciting opportunity to join the highly regarded bequests program. Reporting to the Bequests Manager, the bequests officer is responsible for supporting the growth of the Gifts in Wills portfolio through acquisition and stewardship of donors through multiples channels including direct mail, telephone (and pre COVID through events and presentations).

You will play a vital role in administering the program (with a strong donor care and customer relations focus) supporting the bequest value chain from identification of prospects, conversion, acknowledgement, and retention of donors.

The role is customer focused and will suit a skilled (and ideally experienced) fundraising assistant who possesses exceptional interpersonal skills, a positive can-do attitude and excellent administration capabilities whilst effectively managing relationships to drive engagement and support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide exceptional donor care; identify, cultivate and manage relationships for confirmed and potential bequestors.
  • Assist in acquisition, engagement, and conversion of donors, cultivating relationships to drive engagement and support.
  • Assist in various engagement activities to promote the program as appropriate (mailing and digital).
  • Assist with delivery of multi-channel acquisition campaigns, reviewing data lists, sending packs, follow up calls and emails.
  • Work with Gifts in Wills team and Estate Manager, Events team and Services to run a series of targeted events at service sites, ensuring effective risk management procedures are in place.
  • Work with team to participate at annual (Forever Friends) Commemorative Service.
  • Facilitate retention and stewardship through implementing program of engagement.
  • Maintenance of the recognition program, preparing personalised letters, cards, personal visits, events and communication.
  • Coordinate volunteer programs to assist Gifts in Wills team.

YOUR SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing and/or fundraising desirable with previous experience in fundraising/marketing/events highly regarded but not essential.
  • Positive can-do attitude, exceptional interpersonal skills with strong work ethic and professional manner.
  • Outstanding telephone manner with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong time and project management capabilities.
  • Experience in database use.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interest in community service ideal.
  • Excellent listening skills displaying patience, tolerance and sensitivity.
  • Excellent computer literacy, including intermediate to advanced experience with mail merges, Excel and PowerPoint.
