We are seeking our next Reconnect Youth and Family Worker!

Are you looking to create positive change in the lives of young people and work for a program that allows you to have a flexible lifestyle? CatholicCare's Reconnect Youth and Family Worker role might just be for you.

The Role

CatholicCare's Reconnect ACT Program which is funded by the Department of Social Services, supports young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Through the Reconnect program you would provide outreach support to young people to help stabilise their living situation, achieve family reconciliation where possible and improve their level of engagement with education, work and their local community.

Reconnect Youth and Family Workers offer case management, mediation, group programs and practical support to the whole family to break the cycle of homelessness. With a focus on family reconciliation, the program has the ability to work with both the young person and their parent's/care giver and siblings concurrently, with individual workers where appropriate, to support ongoing positive family relationships.

The ideal person - selection criteria:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications and experience in working with complex young people and families.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the key issues young people who are homelessness or at risk of homelessness are facing.
  • Hold a current drivers' license, a current Working with Vulnerable People card and be willing to undergo a police check.
