CatholicCare Tasmania has a long term commitment to respond to Family Violence in Tasmania and we are looking for an equally committed person to join our Safe Choices Team in Tasmania in the position of Program Manager.

The Safe Choices service provides practical support, advice and referral services to people who are in violent relationships, including those who wish to leave their relationships. It forms part of the continuum of support services available to the Tasmanian community through Tasmania’s Family Violence Action Plan: Safe Homes, Safe Families initiatives. 

The Safe Choices Program Manager will support and enable a passionate and highly dedicated state-wide team in the delivery of Safe Choices services across Tasmania. The role will work with Government and the Non-Government Sector as part of the continuum responding to Tasmanians affected by Family Violence. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide ongoing leadership, line management & clinical supervision to ensure a positive team environment and facilitate ongoing professional development
  • Develop, plan, manage and lead projects designed to improve outcomes for people accessing the Safe Choices Service
  • Undertake responsibility, appropriate decision making and exercise initiative and sound judgment for all aspects of service delivery within the Safe Choices Service and Family Violence Local Support Co-ordination across Tasmania, in consultation with the General Manager Family and Community Services

What you bring to the role:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or other relevant discipline with experience in responding to Family Violence
  • Demonstrated high level skills, knowledge and expertise appropriate to the provision of support to all people experiencing Domestic and Family Violence. 
  • Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable Persons
