About the role: 

CatholicCare Tasmania’s Specialised Family Violence Service provides whole-of-family, client-tailored interventions to individuals and families affected by family violence. It sits within the Family and Relationship Program funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services. 

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and experienced counsellor to provide support on a part time basis to Tasmanian families that have been affected by family violence.

  • This is an integral role within our Counselling Program and its aim is to provide specialised family violence counselling interventions and group work, to those individuals and families that have been affected by family violence. 

You will:

  • Provide specialist expertise to review and work with the team to minimise the incidence, severity and impact of family violence within the community and especially within the client group to assist clients to achieve and maintain safe and respectful family relationships
  • Provide clients opportunities to actively participate in establishing goals relevant to interventions
  • Hold tertiary qualifications at degree level in Social Work, Psychology or related appropriate qualifications/discipline
