About the role:

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and experienced counsellor to deliver counselling support services on a part time basis to families in the Launceston area

As the Counsellor you will:

  • Provide relationship counselling to individuals, couples and families including children using appropriate theoretical models of intervention. 
  • Engage with and assess client needs and develop appropriate case management strategies.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate group work programs relevant to client group and their families
  • Show excellent interpersonal understanding and communication skills
  • Work with a range of clients from different backgrounds and life experiences.

As a Counsellor you will need:

  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience to engage and work with families with complex needs including substance use issues, domestic/family violence and mental health concerns.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to effectively develop and maintain partnerships, networks and client relationships.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or related discipline; post graduate qualifications will be highly regarded
  • Hold a current Working with Vulnerable Persons Registration
  • Hold a current drivers licence
