The Clinical Psychologist will deliver and provide access to a range of client-tailored specialised interventions to individuals, couples and families experiencing a range of issues including those related to trauma and family violence. You will need advanced skills and experience in a range of areas, including counselling, assessment, and professional supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individually-tailored counselling and interventions to clients presenting with family violence, grief and loss, communication and relationship issues, stress or anxiety, depression, addiction, or trauma-related issues
  • Provide a range of developmentally appropriate counselling and support services to children and their caregivers
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of group work programs
  • Conduct psychological assessments to students of affiliated schools
  • Consult and provide therapeutic input to case planning for young people in Out-of-Home Care
  • Provide debriefing and crisis counselling to Youth Workers of Therapeutic Residential Care
  • Provide professional supervision to provisional psychologists and student placements
  • Actively participate in developing the psychology program within CatholicCare Tasmania

What you bring to the role:

  • A minimum six-year sequence of education and training in psychology: completion of four years of APAC-accredited psychology studies, and two years of internship or Master’s degree 5 years minimum post-graduate clinical experience.
  • Registration as a Psychologist through AHPRA, with endorsement in Clinical Psychology, or be eligible to obtain endorsement
  • Demonstrated experience in counselling, including work with children individually, and in groups in a child-focused / inclusive practice
  • Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable Persons
