Counsellor - Carer Gateway

CatholicCare Sydney

About Us

CatholicCare has been contracted to deliver the national Carer Gateway Counselling Service. The service provides sessions of booked counselling over the phone, designed to help carers manage daily challenges, reduce stress and plan for the future. It is a free service operating nationally every weekday, from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm.

CatholicCare Sydney is the official social services agency of the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Sydney. We are a leading not-for-profit agency providing care and support to people in Sydney across a wide range of social services: Children and families, relationships, ageing, disability, employment, mental health and youth programs.

About the Role

The counsellor will provide empathic, person-centred counselling over the phone to flexibly meet the needs of carers who are experiencing stress, anxiety, depression and low mood. The successful applicant will perform assessment and person-centred brief therapy services in addition to occasional intake.
