Catalpa is in search of a passionate Partnership and Growth Manager who is motivated to create significant and lasting change in the lives of people in the Asia-Pacific region. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a combination of expertise and experience in international development, be business savvy, creative, and have a proven track record of building relationships with both internal stakeholders and external clients.

About the position

The Partnerships and Growth Manager will play a critical role in growing Catalpa’s funding and partnerships base with the aim of increasing our impact. The role will lead Catalpa’s Partnerships & Growth Strategy, and work collaboratively with global and diverse teams to develop a strong, long term opportunity pipeline that adheres to Catalpa’s strategic vision and values, and gives us the space to be ourselves.

The role will report to Catalpa’s Executive Director, and act as a key facilitator and coordinator of Catalpa’s growth efforts across health, education, governance & transparency, and our growing products portfolio.

In this role you will:

  • Lead Catalpa’s Partnerships & Growth Strategy, driving its implementation across the organisation, this will include providing strategic and technical guidance on the Asia-Pacific development landscape and Catalpa’s comparative advantage within this dynamic ecosystem.
  • Lead Catalpa’s cross-functional Growth Team
  • Work in partnership with Catalpa’s Head of Products to help drive the market expansion of Catalpa’s technology platforms.
  • Build networks and identify meaningful opportunities across the region, including with DFAT, MFAT, Contractors, NGOs, Universities and leading consultants.
  • Work with our sector heads to help generate leads, and support growth across all of our key priority areas.
  • Manage & strengthen our business development process.
  • Work closely with and mentor the Partnerships Coordinator to develop and prioritise core systems and processes needed for business development.
  • Lead teams to pursue great opportunities - you will collaborate with colleagues across Catalpa to leverage our collective knowledge and ensure that Catalpa is putting its best foot forward in new business conversations.
  • You will lead teams to produce well-coordinated and compelling project proposals, tender responses, presentations, and meetings which communicate Catalpa’s unique value proposition.

About the person

You will have most of the following experience & skills:

  • The successful candidate will be able to think strategically, but also be willing to roll up their sleeves and get things done.
  • We’re searching for someone with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in similar roles.
  • Have a strong reputation in the international development sector, with excellent networks and reputation across the region.
  • You will be able to demonstrate a combination of expertise and experience in international development, with a proven track record of scaling businesses, preferably in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Be a team player, with the ability to build consensus and provide strategic advice to Catalpa’s Leadership Team and Sector Heads.
  • Strong procedural skills with competencies in ensuring business efficiencies at all levels of our work.
  • Can lead diverse and cross-functional teams to meet deadlines and deliver high quality work.
