This is a great opportunity for an experienced Team Leader to perform a key management role essential to the success of CASPA's Permanency Support Programs (PSP) and Semi-Independent Living (SIL) Team, based in the Lismore region on a full-time fixed term basis.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a PSP SIL Team Leader with CASPA you will be responsible for providing strong leadership skills to achieve the continual development of quality practice within Out of Home Care across the Far North Coast of NSW.

The role will involve effective support and management of a large team of Caseworkers and SIL Coordinators, with additional performance as a specialist resource for PSP Caseworkers requiring Leaving and After Care or SIL expertise. This position requires diverse management skills, including the capacity to effectively manage a reduced caseload, to guide the team's success in delivering positive results for CASPA's children, young people, and families.

We are looking for someone with extensive experience working with children and young people who have experienced trauma and whose values align with ours: 'Inspiring People to Thrive.'

KEY RESPONSiBILITIES

  • Ensure quality and accountable case work practices in Out of Home Care for Lismore
  • Act as a specialist resource for PSP Caseworkers particularly in the area of Leaving and After Care or SIL
  • Manage a reduced caseload as needed in line with PSP, SIL Program needs
  • Regular audit of all case files
  • Training and development of Caseworkers and SIL Coordinators
  • Supervise and support a team of Caseworkers and SIL Coordinators
  • Lead a positive team culture
  • Successful achievement of essential Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of a Bachelor in Social Science, Social Work or other relevant qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years Out-of-Home Care casework experience and casework management experience
  • A demonstrated thorough understanding of all Acts and regulations relevant to Out-of- Home Care
  • A demonstrated understanding as to the reasons why quality casework is essential to organisational practices
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team of caseworkers and SIL Coordinators
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively liaise with interagency personnel
  • Advanced Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office software
  • Desired - Experience working in PSP SIL models, therapeutic and evidence-based models
