CareFlight was founded in 1986 as an aeromedical charity with the mission to save lives, speed recovery and serve the community. Today, we deliver services nationally. Our critical care doctors, paramedics and nurses are specially trained in emergency and trauma, pre-hospital and remote medicine and we use helicopters, jet aircraft, turbo-prop planes and road vehicles to reach and treat patients wherever they are.

We run accredited training for clinical specialists; operate extensive aviation and logistic training for our employees and other organisations; run a range of free education and training programs in regional, rural and remote areas, and partner with emergency service organisations, defence forces and businesses to deliver our expertise.

The role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and passionate Fundraising and Community Engagement Officer eager to assist the Relationship Development Manager (NT) in the running of community engagement events which generate net revenue and promote the CareFlight NT brand. Your key responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Represent CareFlight at external events and promoting brand favourably whilst raising funds.
  • organising base visits and public speaking at Community Events as required to promote CareFlight Develop.
  • Assist the Fundraising & Community Engagement team as required, including but not limited to, providing assistance at other CareFlight events, community talks and base visits.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • At least two (2) years’ experience in a related field such as fundraising, sales or events.
  • The ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and develop a rapport with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds.
  • Strong time management skills and being able to work unsupervised to meet deadlines.
  • A “can do” team player attitude and ability to work under pressure.

  • Proficient in the Microsoft office suite and database systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Physically fit and able to carry and or manoeuvre event equipment.
  • Current Driver’s License.
  • Ability to convert donors to regular giving, bequest or top donor by making a successful ask.
  • Ability to work weekends at community based events as required.

The following will be highly regarded:

  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or workplace-based experience in event management. fundraising, marketing, sales or fundraising, or project management.
  • Ability to write clear media and marketing copy to promote CareFlight.
  • Basic marketing skills.
