ABOUT THE BUSINESS

Established in 2009, CareerTrackers is a national nonprofit with the goal of creating pathways and support systems for Indigenous young adults to attend and graduate from university, with high marks, industry experience and bright professional futures.

The organisation creates multi-year internships and professional employment opportunities for current and aspiring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander university students. CareerTrackers Interns and Alumni represent a generation of Indigenous professionals who are changing the landscape of not only of corporate Australia but of the wider Australian society.

ABOUT THE ROLE

CareerTrackers are seeking an energetic Program Manager QLD, NT to lead, motivate and inspire a team and stakeholder group more broadly, to support organisational efficiency and drive performance outcomes. Reporting to the Director, University Program, you will lead the delivery of the CareerTrackers Program across Queensland and the Northern Territory. You will have strong commercial acumen and excel at managing strategic relationships and engaging a network of corporate, community and university leaders.

You will have experience in building community trust and partnerships, having worked with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Queensland, the Northern Territory and/or across the country. You will understand the importance of data that will inform how you implement, evaluate and manage all program-related activities. You will be committed to building upon the organisation’s culture of excellence that underpins future program and organisational enhancements.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Bachelor Degree or higher in a related discipline
  • Awareness of, connection to and passion for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and community
  • Proven leadership experience that inspires and engages both own team and all other stakeholders to deliver outcomes
  • Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in the area of verbal and written communication with the ability to develop positive relationships with a range of corporate and community stakeholders.
  • Strong general knowledge of different careers and organisational structures/design across professional industries
  • Strong resilience and proven ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve ambitious targets and goals
  • Strong planning skills, attention to detail and an ability to use initiative, think laterally & strategically to meet deadlines and delivery outcomes.
  • Willingness to take on varied tasks and display initiative.
