About the role

The Research Manager is a key role in our Heart Health team with responsibility for the development and delivery of an overarching research strategy.

You will be a strong communicator, allowing you to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders (including honorary committees, expert groups, research organisations, the Australian Cardiovascular Alliance) to optimise research opportunities and facilitate the exchange of knowledge, information and learning.

You will keep up to date with current and emerging cardiovascular research issues and provide strategic advice to key strategic Heart Health leaders in accordance with our strategic research agenda.

In collaboration with our Advocacy team, you will contribute to efforts to expand the CVD research agenda, optimise additional sources of research funding, and participate in national health and medical research consultations, inquiries and campaigns. You will also be a confident public speaker, providing thought leadership and guidance on implementation of our Impact Measurement Framework to ensure key milestones are met and outputs delivered.

You will respond to requests for technical/specialist information from other business units of the Heart Foundation and participate in panel discussions or time limited working groups.

You will be a positive manager, motivating and supporting the professional development of a small high performing team.

About you

We are looking for someone with post-graduate qualifications in a health or research related field.

You will have demonstrated success in research management with a history of managing similar calibre of work.
