Manager and Fundraiser

The Outdoor Education Group

The Manager and Fundraiser of The Outdoor Education Foundation will support the fundraising, planning, implementation, and evaluation of innovative outdoor education programs for young Australians. Young people who can truly benefit from these often-transformational experiences, yet who are often limited in their access to them.

This newly created role represents a wonderful opportunity for someone with a genuine appetite for strategically securing and maintaining funding and referral relationships for The Outdoor Education Foundation. We’ve been going for almost three years with great success and are ready for the next leap!

You’ll work alongside colleagues at The Outdoor Education Group to plan programs that meet the purpose and objectives of the Foundation, ensuring we continue to provide extraordinary outcomes to our participants.

We’re looking for a colleague who can:

  • Articulate an understanding and appreciation for outdoor education experiences;
  • Write and administer grants, donations, and oversee fundraising and partnership activities;
  • Forge and maintain excellent relationships with partners, potential donors, participants and their families;
  • Embrace innovation and demonstrate curiosity for seeking out new program design and partnership opportunities;
  • Work alongside our program delivery colleagues at The Outdoor Education Group to ensure excellent program planning, delivery and evaluation.

Who are you?

  1. You’re someone who knows a potential opportunity when you see it and you’re not afraid to test it
  2. You understand that it takes a village to make the extraordinary happen and you’re committed to collaboration and genuine teamwork.
  3. You know how to communicate what this work is all about and why. To multiple audiences.
  4. You understand the needs of donors, funding partners and agencies. You’ve successfully worked with these folks before.
  5. You have the energy to build real relationships with our partners, donors, participants, and colleagues.
  6. You can write and present very well, for multiple audiences.
  7. You are detailed enough to adequately acquit grants and report on agreements.
  8. You’re comfortable with uncertainty - we’re just getting going and that can be unsettling. We are clear however on where we’re going – and that’s to get as many young Australians out into the bush on potentially transformational outdoor education programs as we can.
