The Indo-Pacific Centre for Health Security (CHS) was established in 2017 to implement the Australian Government’s Health Security Initiative for the Indo-Pacific Region. The Initiative, which is funded through Australia’s overseas aid program, aims to inform evidence-based planning, help prevent avoidable epidemics, strengthen early detection capacity, and support rapid, effective national and international outbreak responses. It does this by accelerating research on new drugs and diagnostics, expanding partnerships at the national, regional and global level to strengthen human and animal health systems, and deepening people-to-people linkages that build national and regional health security capacity. In 2020, CHS played a key role in Australia’s response to the regional impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is currently leading the implementation of Australia’s regional Vaccine Access and Health Security Initiative (VAHSI).
We offer an opportunity to work with a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team at a time of critical importance for health security and global health, to support equitable access to vaccines for our region.
We are seeking a skilled, flexible and motivated individual to lead a work stream on the Quad Vaccine Partnership and to spearhead our engagement with likeminded partners. The candidate will be required to exercise sound judgement, delivering quality outputs under pressure and against short deadlines.

This position will report directly to the CHS manager on a day-to-day basis. Performance management, probations, and contract issues will be managed by Cardno.
