We have several roles available where we are looking for registered Social Workers (Medicare eligible), passionate about the delivery of counselling, to join our successful and supportive Caraniche team. The role involves an opportunity to support clients who present with a range of complex clinical needs primarily related to high prevalence mental health issues, alcohol and other drug (AOD) misuse, gambling issues, anger and emotions and workplace wellbeing. These roles contribute to the values-driven, highly professional and ethical delivery of services to clients through the provision of evidence-based and trauma-informed clinical work. Excellent opportunity to provide evidence based therapeutic services to our clients within a supportive team encompassing access to clinical and peer supervision, with full administrative and operational support.

These opportunities are for remote, working from home and face to face sessions at our Head Office, Abbotsford, and alternate site delivery.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide a range of individual and group psychological treatment/counselling in accordance with Caraniche’ s various models of care, including behaviour change programs and a range of workplace wellbeing services
  • Identify presenting issues to enable effective formulation of treatment plans and allocation to treatment
  • As needed, conduct risk assessments (e.g., suicide and self-harm, risk to others, risk to self)
  • Where relevant, write a range of psychological reports, including assessment reports, treatment plans, treatment outcome reports, and referral reports
  • Liaise with and refer clients to other health professionals and support services
  • Develop and/or facilitate training and capability development sessions
  • Attend supervision with a registered supervisor through individual and group supervision.

What you’ll ideally bring to the role

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent in social work, or relevant and comparable qualification or experience
  • Professional registration with AASW; as well as eligibility to provide Medicare and/or private health insurance rebate-able services preferred
  • Proven experience in delivery of online and face to face services relating to either employee assistance program, AOD, Gambling, Anger and Emotional Management and High Prevalent Mental Health Conditions
  • Experience providing counselling interventions to complex psychological presentations
  • Desire to promote and harness behaviour change
  • Interest in and be excited by innovative service delivery, new ways of working and ability to contribute to content and online program design
  • Ability to use electronic medical record systems and relevant software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
