Senior Clinician / Team Leader

Caraniche
  • Negotiable FTE: 0.8 to 1.0FTE
  • 12 month Parental Leave Coverage, commencing May 2021
  • Excellent leadership and career development opportunity

The Role

Caraniche is looking for a Senior Clinician/Team Leader, with experience in the service provision of individual and group alcohol and other drugs (AOD) treatment/counselling, to join our successful and supportive CARE (Counselling And Recovery Empowerment) team, based in Epping.

The Acting Senior Clinician role is a 12 month fixed term contract (parental leave coverage) which will commence in May 2021. There is scope for longer term/permanent employment options following the fixed term contract, for the right candidate. The Acting Senior Clinician role is located predominantly at Caraniche’s Epping office, with scope to work remotely (i.e., from home) by negotiation. The CARE Epping team consists of psychologists, provisional psychologists, social workers, AOD clinicians, a care and recovery co-ordinator and support staff.

The team provides face to face and telehealth AOD treatment to voluntary and forensic clients, care and recovery co-ordination and comprehensive AOD assessments and treatment planning as funded by DHHS. The CARE Epping team also facilitates some group program delivery, including the suite of Vic Roads Drink and Drug Driver programs and the Safe Driving Program.

The Acting Senior Clinician will be responsible for the coordination of contracted services, interfacing with key stakeholders and referring bodies and oversighting/supporting the team. Reporting to the Manager of CARE, the Acting Senior Clinician will also be part of the business unit’s leadership team, working collaboratively with the other Senior Clinicians and the Manager to lead the business unit and contribute to the broader strategic plans for Caraniche.

About You

You are a clinician with either demonstrated experience as a team leader and/or several years of clinical service delivery experience within forensic AOD treatment settings and are looking to take the next step in your career. Experience in the supervision of staff is not essential but a desire to develop both clinical and operational supervision skills is a must.

This is a great career opportunity for a clinician who is wanting to develop leadership skills and consolidate their skills in stakeholder management, whilst providing support to a team.
